SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products) is a data processing software designed to promote better results in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning). The SAP software was designed by a German company bearing the same name. Known primarily for helping with ERP, SAP software is created to make the process of managing customer relations and business operations a more efficient and streamlined manner.

The SAP system is comprised of various modules, including human resources, sales, and many more. Consisting of the required tools to streamline data processing in any and all departments of a business, these modules can be purchased by businesses as per their needs.

There are various advantages to implementing the SAP software for your business. Besides being a one-stop solution for every aspect of running a business, SAP also has the following advantages which directly contribute to its popularity around the world, making it the number one system and software company:

  • Versatility: No matter what kind of business a company is running, the SAP software can handle a plethora of business operations across fields. Further, whether a new company comprising of a couple of clients and verticals wants to include SAP systems or a giant MNC with a global presence wants to implement it, SAP can function equally well for all companies. Comprising a gamut of ERP tools and solutions, SAP’s cloud-based approach can handle all business types and sizes. The process is made further simpler for users with the help of SAP’s 24*7 customer support.
  • Ingenious Technology: Established in 1972, SAP has evolved its technology over 40 years, understanding the minor details which take a piece of software from functional to sophisticated. As technological strides were made throughout the world, SAP systems also became more elaborate and extensive, covering all areas of business operations. To keep up with the constantly developing software and make business operations manageable without much hassle in the future as well, SAP systems rely on cloud-ERP solutions. The technology implemented in these systems has been created with the aim of saving time and resources by automating tasks that occur routinely.
  • Secure: SAP systems are incredibly secure and offer a lot of customizability which makes it even better and easier for businesses to set up their security systems as they wish it. What is even better is that the ability to customize processes is that clients are only required to pay for what they take up. Having been built upon a solid foundation of sophisticated infrastructure, SAP is able to protect your business from hundreds and thousands of threats and hackers every day.

How to use SAP?

Learning about SAP systems can prove extremely effective in ensuring continued business growth and utmost security. SAP offers various courses, training, and certifications for individuals as well as companies new to this software. These courses are available over multiple types of platforms, including MOOCs, Podcasts, and more. There are different levels of learning in the SAP courses, including Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. The courses are also designed to cover a wide range of SAP software processes, including Data Warehouses, SAP Cloud SDK, and Planning Strategies, to name a few.

How Does SAP Work?

The SAP system, in most cases, is constructed in three tiers. This is because the three-tier construction is better for promoting the high scalability of the business. The three tiers are the Presentation tier, Application Tier and Database Tier.

  • The Presentation Tier: This tier consists of SAP Graphical Interface, which essentially means that it provides an interface that enables communications between the ERP and the user. This is installed on the user’s desktop and is a light application responsible for handling all interprocess communication
  • The Application Tier: This tier handles what is known as business logic. It can thus be said to be the main organ promoting the functionality of the SAP system. All of the processes of a business, including report handling, database access handling, client transactions, etc., are handled by this tier.
  • The Database Tier: This is basically the place that stores all the data. This includes not only business data but also SAP programs and processes.
